  11. Well for a full A4/letter page at 720 dpi the driver has to calculate the 
  12. positions of a potential 182 million dots (20+MB of data), and if its 
  13. using microweave and a sophisticated dither like Floyd-Steinberg B then 
  14. of course it takes some time. On an '030 25MHz the calculations for a 
  15. full page take about 30 mins to do and the printer takes another 30 mins 
  16. to print it. 
  17. But if you're mixing text and pictures its far quicker to print the text 
  18. at 360x360 fast mode (leaving a gap for the pic) and put the paper 
  19. through a second time and use the EnPrint picture printing program to 
  20. exactly scale, rotate and position the picture for the second pass. That 
  21. means theres much less data to calculate/print reducing the whole cycle 
  22. to about 5 minutes for the same results.
